Sun/setting is a smartphone-projector video installation that presents a conflict among embodied experience, past experiences in training data, and the anticipated experience of machine vision systems. By forcing an HDR optimisation algorithm into a physical loop with images from its training data, a different form of temporality emerges which is neither sunrise nor sunset, but a space and time of the HDR optimisation model.
